To broaden public understanding of Air Force's role in the nation's security and welfare
RECONSTITUTION OF DEFENCE MINISTER’S APPELLATE COMMITTEE FOR SECOND APPEAL
1. The proposal to re-constitute Defence Ministers’ Appellate Committee on Second Appeal has been under consideration in the Department for some time. It is noted that the acceptance or rejection of the appeal is basically dependent on the views of Review Medical Board, JAG and Services. The Deptt. Of ESW has no substantive role in the process. 2. It has therefore been decided with the approval of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, that (i) Defence Ministers’ Appellate Committee for Second Appeal may be re-designated as the Second Appellate Committee for Disability Pension. (ii) It may be chaired by Vice Chief of Army Staff or equivalent in the Navy and Air Force. (iii) There need be no representation of the Deptt. of Ex-Servicemen Welfare on this Committee; the Deptt. will continue to only deal with policy matters on the subject as hitherto fore. (iv) Defence Finance may be associated at an appropriate level.
